Operations Director

ABOUT THE ROLE

Videre is looking for an Operations Director to oversee internal administrative and support functions and infrastructure.

This role ensures that Videre operates efficiently and in alignment with its values, governance and strategic plan, driving culture and behavioural change. The Operations Director is a member of the Senior Management Team (SMT) and will work closely with other senior leadership to strengthen organisational capacity, improve operational systems, and support long-term sustainability.

Line Manages: Head of Finance and Compliance, Security Manager, Administrative and Human Resources Coordinator, IT Manager, Database Manager

LOCATION

Nairobi, Kampala or Bangkok preferred. Remote applicants will be considered. Approximately 20 days travel per year expected.

COMPENSATION

Salary is dependent on location. The equivalent of a UK salary of £72,000 plus pension contribution will be converted according to location using ICSC scales and paid in local currency.

Investigations Lead

ABOUT THE ROLE

Videre is seeking an Investigations Lead, responsible for leading the delivery of impactful, high quality human rights investigations across the organisation.

The role combines substantive leadership on investigative content with operational oversight, ensuring that investigations are methodologically sound, ethically robust, and safely implemented.

Listening to project staff and community investigators, and working in close partnership with other technical leads (including programming, legal, impact and security management colleagues), the Investigation Lead shapes investigative priorities and approaches while ensuring that investigation teams—both project staff and community-based investigators—have the tools, skills, guidance, and support required to carry out complex human rights investigations in high-risk contexts.

The Investigations Lead line-manages an OSINT Researcher and four project staff who, in turn, manage and support community investigators.

Database Manager

ABOUT THE ROLE

Videre is seeking a Database Manager to lead the strategic and operational management of Videre’s information systems, with a primary focus on secure closed source investigative data management and relational data analysis tools.

The role is responsible not only for maintaining and optimising existing systems, but also for identifying, scoping, and implementing improved solutions — including leading system migrations where necessary.

A core function of this position is to support investigative, legal, and programme teams to use data systems effectively and confidently. The Database Manager will translate technical architecture into practical workflows, provide training and ongoing guidance, and ensure systems are accessible, secure, and aligned with investigative and verification standards.

The role will also lead Videre’s thinking on the responsible integration of emerging technologies, including AI, into investigative and verification processes.
